My 3rd & 4th great grandfathers left England in 1871, names George Gingell and Jonas Gingell on passenger and immigration lists the name is shown as GENGILL. Place Ontario, Canada. George born circa 1811. His son Jonas circa 1829.     17th May 2005 Looking for relations of Harriett Gingell. Widow in 1891 Census living in Bristol with daughters Alice 1878, Lily 1881, Harriet 1875, Rose 1872. Husband Thomas died sometime between 1881/1891. 1881 the family were living in Bedminster Somerset. Alice & Baby. Harriett nee Moffett born 1849. Isabella born 1879 Rose and Thomas born 1849, this Thomas could be the son of George Gingell and Harriet Harding. 1871 census living Bedminster with wife. I also found a Thomas Gingell c 1849 in the 1871 census listed as a gunner on board a ship at Stoke Damerel... can anyone help solve this problem for me.     25th September 1998 Hi, So nice to meet you all. I find it very interesting to read the family infomation given by you. Does anyone know what happened to Fanny Haines who was in the Union Workhouse, Calne, Wiltshire in 1881 age 44. She was the wife of Jonas Gingell who dissapeared sometime between 1867 -1871. I am also trying to trace ancestors William Gingell born 18th January 1895, baptised 21st June 1895 in St Johns Parish Church, Devizes, Wiltshire whose father was Albert Gingell, and mother Emma Wiltshire.
